Continuing our Basketball unit, sixth grade students will review Triple Threat position, Jump Stop, and Pivot, plus, introduction of the Control Dribble. Seventh and Eighth grade students, participating in basketball will begin in-class league play. Students participating in our “Log It” walking program will begin walking.

Physical activity for all children is important. We are, therefore, implementing a school-wide walking program called the Mileage Club.

The Mileage Club provides opportunity for all children, grades 6 to 8, to walk for fitness. The Mileage Club will be held during the second semester of the school year. This week long (Monday-Sunday) program will require each Homeroom; Students and Instructor, plus selected Staff members to wear a pedometer throughout the day, accumulating steps. At the end of every day, each participant will write down on their Weekly Walking Log the steps they have walked. On the following Monday, Students, Instructor and Staff members participating will return their pedometers and Weekly Walking Logs.

Team 7B will be starting off our Mileage Club program. Good Luck! and have fun.
